The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has summoned the joint investigations team to explain the status of fugitive political advisor to former President Edgar Lungu, Kaizer Zulu.
This is in a matter in which Zulu was charged with one count of conversion not amounting to theft.
It was alleged that between November 19, 2019 and March 25, 2022, in Lusaka, he unlawfully and without claim of right, did convert to his use, a motor vehicle registration number GRZ 759.
When the matter came up Friday, before Magistrate Mutinta Mwenya, she was informed by the State that the investigating officer was not present.
Magistrate Mwenya, however, said she needed the joint investigations team to explain on the status of Zulu and efforts made to locate him .
She adjourned the matter to May 27, 2024.
Early this year, Mwenya ordered the detention of Lumezi Independent Member of Parliament, Munir Zulu, and his Chilubi counterpart, Mulenga Fube, after the duo failed to present the accused.
The two sureties were released from custody upon payment of K50,000 each.
