The World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature-Zambia says delay in the conclusion of the sovereign debt negotiations has negatively impacted support for conservation initiatives.
Organization Country Director, Nalucha Ziba, said this was coupled with foriegn exchange challenges that had impacted the financing programme in the country.
Ziba said this during the launch of the WWF 2023 annual report via a zoom meeting on Friday.

She stated that the drought had also ledto loss of crop cover even in areas where the organization was implementing its programmes to compliment government efforts.
“The performance of the country’s macro and micro-economic indicators including climate conditions have a significant impact on achieving conservation impact at the landscape level,” Ziba noted.
She said these conditions affected consumer behaviour and ultimately how communities interacted, accessed and used natural resources.
