Jane Lusengo, accused of shooting and killing her husband, Lieutenant General (retired), Ronnie Shikapwasha, made an appearance in court Wednesday for mention.
Lusengo, 73, is charged with the murder of her husband, Shikapwasha, a former Zambia Army commander and Foreign Affairs Minister in the MMD government.

The calm-looking grandmother appeared before Lusaka Magistrate, Keegan Litiya, for explanation of charge which the accused said she understood.
Magistrate Litiya committed Lusengo to the High Court as murder was not triable by the surbodinate court.
It is alleged that Lusengo on January 14, 2024 between 17:00 and 18:00 hours at plot number 477 in Ibex Hill in Lusaka shot Shikapwasha using a double barrel short gun, serial number 168462 in the abdomen causing him to sustain a gunshot wound on the left side of the abdomen, resulting to his death on January 15, 2024 at Maina Soko Military Hospital.
