Socialist, Florence Solochi’s alleged boyfriend, Peter Kambuleki appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate Court and pleaded not guilty to threatening violence, malicious damage to property and being armed in public.
Magistrate Kawama Mwamfuli informed Kambuleki that he would only be granted bail if he met the conditions that included K35,000 in his own recognisance and two working sureties to pay K30,000 each.
He further ordered that the said sureties should be interviewed by the Court.
Kambuleki, 30, a customs and clearing agent was alleged to have discharged a firearm at a night club at East Park Mall.
It was alleged that Kambuleki got enraged after he found Malcolm Chiimbe talking to his girlfriend, Solochi.
He threatened Chiimbe with a firearm.
According to a police report, one of the bullets struck the fifth floor of the 11-storey Wonderful Group of Companies building along Great East Road.
Kambuleki now faces a charge of threatening violence contrary to Section 90(b) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.
He was also charged with malicious damage to property Contrary to Section 355(1) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Republican laws as he damaged the window and curtains valued at K7,560 ,a property of Wonderful Group of Companies.
In the last count, Kambuleki was charged with going armed in public Contrary to Section 84 of the CPC.
It was alleged that the accused carried a 9 mm caliber pistol in public without lawful occasion and discharged the said fire arm and caused terror to Chiimbe.
Kambuleki, however, denied all the charges.
Meanwhile, Solochi threatened to violently deal with Journalists who were capturing her after the court session.
