Fugitive former political advisor, Zulu, constantly changing abodes, security operative tells court

Fugitive former political advisor, Kaizer Zulu, has been changing places of abode which has made it difficult to execute the bench warrant against him, a security operative told the Lusaka Magistrate Court.

Since June, 2023, the whereabouts of Kaizer, a political advisor to former President Edgar Lungu, have been unknown, which led the Magistrate Court to issue a warrant of arrest for non-appearance in court.

He was charged with two counts of failing to appear before the nearest immigration officer and failing to surrender a diplomatic passport.

During hearing of return of bench warrant before Magistrate Sylvia Munyinya, his surety, Chilubi Member of Parliament, Mulenga Fube, said they were still facing challenges to find the accused.

The security operative, Friday Milimakau, begged the Magistrate to extend the bench warrant.

“The warrant could not be executed, the search your honour has continued. From that time we continue the search. There are indicators that he has been changing places of abode your honour. We beg for more time to continue with the search,” Milimakau pleaded with the Court.

Magistrate Munyinya extended the warrant to February 15, 2024.
