Party of National Unity and Progress (PNUP) President, Highvie Hamududu, has appealed to President Hakainde Hichilema to deploy the defence force in Lusaka for a clean-up operation to mitigate the spread of cholera.
Hamududu said that without thorougly cleaning up Lusaka as quickly as possible to prevent the cholera spread, the Health facilities would not manage to deal with the rising incidences.
In statement issued on Friday, PNUP leader pointed out that cholera spread was promoted by dirty, poor infrastructure and unclean water sources.

“The emergency is now bigger than the current capacity of the city council,” he stated.
He suggest the involvement of other ministries to put in extraordinary measures to fight the spread.
He called for inputs from other ministries to help attain sufficient prevention and eradication of cholera at source.
