Chipolopolo Coach, Avram Grant, has named a 55-member provisional squad ahead of the Cote d’Ivoire 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
This is as per Confederation of African Football (CAF) tournament schedule requirements.
CAF had set December 14, 2023 as the deadline for participating teams to provide their provisional squads with 55 set as the maximum limit.
Grant had cast his net wide to give an opportunity to the best local talents as well as some promising young starlets plying their trade in foreign leagues.
The ex-Chelsea, West Ham, Portsmouth boss had set quality, passion, and desire to play one’s country as the minimum benchmark for making his squad.
According to the CAF roadmap, all teams would be expected to unveil their finals squads by January 3.
Zambia is in Group F alongside Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Morocco and Tanzania.
The Chipolopolo is expected to open its AFCON account onJanuary 17, 2024, against DRC before facing Morocco four days later and conclude its group matches against Tanzania on January 24.
