Mines and Mineral Development Minister, Paul Kabuswe, has urged politicians not to politicize mining tragedy where 31 miners are still trapped underground.
“Instead of coming together, the opposition wants to politicize this tragedy, what type of people are these,” Kabuswe said during a media briefing on Monday in Chingola.

And five days have gone past in the search for trapped miners at a Chingola copper dumpsite, with no one retrieved yet.
Copperbelt Minister, Elias Matambo, said Zambians should remain patient and hopeful as the search for trapped miners intensified.
“Progress has been made at the site, we have brought in more machinery, the number of excavators has reached 11 in addition to loaders and other equipment,” Matambo told the media.
He said the mud had cleared at the site and that the holes where the miners were trapped had been identified.
