Zambian internationals show class in African, European football leagues (See results)

Zambia’s Kennedy Musonda scored the opening goal as Young Africans SC cruised to an emphatic 5-1 win over rivals Simba SC in the Tanzanian Premier League.

It was a big scoreline as Young Africans inflicted a heavy defeat on Tanzanian champions Simba SC who had Chipolopolo midfielder Clatous Chama in the starting line up.

Moses Phiri was, however, an unused substitute for Simba SC in the match played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

In Sweden, Zambian striker, Edward Chilufya, was among the scorers for his side BK Hacken’s 4-2 win over Malmo FF.

The goal took Chilufya’s tally to five goals in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

Elsewhere, Italian based Chipolopolo forward Lameck Banda racked up an assist in Serie A team Lecce’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of AS Roma.

Lameck Banda set up Pontus Almqvist for the opener but late goals from Romelu Lukaku who missed a penalty in the opening minutes of the match and Sardar Azmoun gave AS Roma the win.

Meanwhile, Chipolopolo captain Lubambo Musonda played in his side Silkeborg’s 2-1 loss at the hands of Viborg.
