A delegation of private investors from Poland says it is keen on investing in various sectors of the Zambian economy.
This came to light on Monday when Polish Ambassador to Zambia, Adam Burakowski, led a delegation of Polish Investors and that country’s Foreign Affairs officials to pay a courtesy call on Green Economy and Environment Minister, Collins Nzovu, at his office.
Burakowski explained that the delegation was in Zambia to explore possible areas of investment.
“The investors said the areas of possible investment opportunities were in Carbon Credits, renewable energy, turning organic waste to organic fertiliser, air bio-purification, and a transfer of technology and skills among others,” Burakowski said.

In response to the investors, Nzovu welcomed their interest in investing in sectors that would protect the environment and contribute to economic growth.
Nzovu explained that one of the biggest challenges Zambia face was high cost of fertiliser even as majority of the population depends on agriculture.
The Minister, therefore, welcomed the proposed investment in organic fertiliser, which could enable people access fertiliser at affordable prices without compromising the environment.
“The Zambian Government has created a conducive policy environment for foreign investors to invest in various sectors, including in green economy and environment.
“It is very importance to attract investment that will contribute to greening the economy and improving the wellbeing of the people,” he said.
