The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) has set new dates for registered candidates to sit for the Professional Licensure Examinations (LEX) which were cancelled earlier this year.
HPCZ, this year canceled the Professional Licensure Examinations on September 22, 2023 following a security breach.
Faston Goma, the HPCZ Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, said this in a statement issued in Lusaka on Thursday.
Goma said the rescheduled Professional Licensure Examinations would run from Monday, November 13 to Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in Lusaka and Ndola simultaneously.
He added that all registered candidates would write both theory and practical examination papers respectively, to be administered physically at designated centres.
“However, candidates who were registered to write the Professional LEX from Livingstone are advised to choose either Lusaka or Ndola centres as there will be no examinations conducted in Livingstone,” Goma said.
Goma assured all stakeholders and the general public that investigations into the cause of the leakage of September LEX papers had progressed with the help of government agencies and the Zambia Police Service.

He said the outcome would be communicated once the process was concluded.
“Meanwhile, HPCZ has continued to work on mechanisms to enhance the security and credibility of the Professional Licensure Examinations as the Council desires to license only qualified and competent health professionals who will contribute to the provision of quality healthcare services,” Goma said.
