Mobility firm, Bolt, pilots business in Zambia

Bolt, a mobility firm has announced piloting of its service in Zambia.

The firm, offering mobility services across Europe and Africa, made the announcement on Thursday.

Zambia would be the second country for Bolt in the Southern African hemisphere.

Bolt is a free mobile application that connects drivers and customers.

Laurent Koerge, Head of Expansion at Bolt Lusaka, committed the firm to charging drivers no commission for using the platform for a minimum of six months.

Koerge in a statement issued on Thursday also committed the firm to profitability and fairness towards drivers from the very beginning.

“Our goal is not only to offer our drivers higher revenues per hire, but also to ensure a high demand due to competitive prices,” he said.

Koerge said that the app was committed to offering all customers a safe mobility experience and was introducing various safety measures and in-app features designed to protect riders and drivers.
