Who controls PF party structure? Crisis worsens, as Nakacinda, Sampa, drag each other over ‘stolen’ K200,000

Newly appointed Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General, Raphael Nakacinda, has reported Matero Member of Parliament, Miles Sampa, to the police for allegedly breaking and entering into the party Secretariat and holding an illegal meeting.

Sampa on the other hand accused Nakacinda of being an impostor and stealing his personal K200,000 nomination fee.

In a letter dated September 15, 2023, addressed to Grapheal Musamba, the Inspector General of Police, Nakacinda said in the process of breaking in, malicious damage had been occasioned to the property and the gate.

He said Miles further conducted himself in a manner that was likely to cause a breach of peace.

“In the midst of such provocation, we have restrained our members from reacting as we are a peace loving party,” Nakacinda said.

He said the party had undertaken to conduct itself peacefully in the manner that it interacts with both its members and the general public.

“We thus request your good office to act and respond to these illegality with the necessary urgency that this matter deserves,” Nakacinda said.

Whilst holding a press briefing on Friday, Sampa said the party had been hijacked by those from the former ruling party, the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD).

He accused Nakacinda of being an impostor and thief of his personal K200,000 nomination fee.

“Elo since when did any complainant citizen report cases directly to the Inspector General of Police jumping corporals, Sergents, CID, C5, Sub Inspectors, Chief Inspectors, Commissioners of Police etc,” Sampa said

He accused his opponents of bloated egos and sense of entitlement, noting the abuse of constitutional public officers.

Sampa vowed to hold another press conference at same venue and invited Nakachinda to attend.
