The Copper Queens will this month play two international friendly matches against Morocco.
The matches would be played during the September 18 to 26, FIFA international window.
FAZ General Secretary, Reuben Kamanga, said the two match A fixtures would be held in Rabat as the two sides prepare for next month’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers.
This is according to a statement by FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala.
“We are proud to announce that the Royal Morocco Football Federation has agreed to play an international friendly match with FAZ which is part of our continued efforts to keep our teams engaged during FIFA international windows.
“Both teams were at the just ended FIFA Women World Cup and are looking to gauging their strengths ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers,” Kamanga said.
He said FAZ was also looking to launching a new phase for the Copper Queens that completed an exciting cycle that saw them qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, win the Cosafa Cup, win bronze at the WAFCON and qualify to the FIFA World Cup in Australia/New Zealand.
“It is a good opportunity to kick start a new era for the Copper Queens that should be looking at another WAFCON success story, Olympic qualification and World Cup chase,” he said.
The first match would be played on September 22 in Rabat, with the second match lined up four days later.
