The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has reportedly registered 20,758 voters from June, 2022 to July, 2023 respectively.
ECZ Chairperson, Mwangala Zaloumis, told a stakeholders’ sensitisation meeting in Kitwe on Monday that the electoral body had registered a total number of 20,758 during the continuous registration of voters.
“Of the 20,758 new registered voters, 11,643 were male while 9,150 female,” Zaloumis said.

On Tuesday, she said ECZ would additionally launch the exercise in 10 more districts which includes Kitwe, Chongwe, Kabompo, Livingstone and Lundazi.
Other districts being targeted are: Mbala, Mkushi, Nakaonde, Nchelenge and Sesheke.
Zaloumis urged stakeholders in the country to get involved in the awareness activities to capture many people.
Others in attendance included Kitwe district electoral officer Patrick Kambita and Copperbelt provincial electoral officer Mcloud Nyirenda, among others.
