Copperbelt Police Chief, Peacewell Mweemba, says police in Kitwe has discovered the body of a man reportedly killed and dumped in Kafue river.
The man is believed to be in his late forties and was allegedly killed by unknown people with his body cut from the waist with intestines missing.
After inspection by police and health personnel, it was observed that the deceased was cut off from the waist and had two deep cuts on the left side of his head and bruises on the back while all the intestines were missing .

Mweemba explained that body was spotted on Tuesday around 14:30 hours at kafue river near seventh day Adventist Church in Ipusukilo township, who later reported to police that a body of a person was floating in Kafue river.
He said police together with fire brigade unit rushed to the scene where the body of unknown male person, aged between 40 and 50, was retrieved from the river.
The half body of the deceased was taken to Kitwe Teaching hospital where it was certified dead by the medical doctor.
Due to its state, the half body had since been buried by police and Kitwe City Council officers.
