A Lusaka resident whose two dogs mauled an 11-year-old boy whose arm was later amputated has pleaded not guilty to a charge of reckless and negligent acts before the Lusaka Magistrate Court.
Mungo Chinganya of PHI residential area is alleged to have negligently endangered the life of the boy from a dog bite, by not taking precaution against probable danger from an animal that was in his possession.

Appearing before Magistrate, Mbuywana Sinvula, Chinganya pleaded not guilty to reckless and negligent acts contrary to Section 237 (d) and 238 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Facts of the matter are that on February 11, 2023, at 15;50 hours, the victim was bitten by two dogs namely Boxer Pit and Boer Bull Pit belonging to Chinganya.
The boy sustained severe bite wounds on his left arm and all over his body and was admitted to hospital and unfortunately lost his arm. The incident occurred along Benjamin Mwelwa road in PHI being a public road.
