Zambia Medical Association to host scientific conference on digital health systems

The Zambia Medical Association (ZMA) is set to host the 2023 Annual Scientific Conference, which will be held in August in Livingstone to discuss Digital Health systems.

The ZMA annual conference will be held under the theme: “Strengthening health systems by leveraging digital health to address emerging and existing health threats.”

Association President, Chrispin Moyo, announced this during the media breakfast pre launch of the ZMA 2023 Annual General Scientific Conference in Lusaka on Tuesday.

Moyo said the conference was expected to be graced by President Hakainde Hichilema and will discuss the need for the country to embrace Digital Health systems.

“The country experienced a number of disruptions with the coming of COVID 19 hence the need to innovate with digital health systems,” he said.

Moyo said the conference will focus on ways of strengthening and harnessing digital innovations and how they can continue to be used in providing services to the people.

“Among other topics to be discussed during the conference is the impact of climate change on health service delivery considering emerging diseases that come with climate change,” he said.
