Mordecai makes waves on social media. Will he be a flash in the pan?

A young artiste has taken social media by storm with some already comparing him to Zambian music sensation, Yo Maps Yo.

Mordecai who won a local TV talent show when he was only 11 years old in 2013 has resurfaced in style.

Born Mordecai Munjoma, the youngster’s smooth vocals have earned him rapid acclaim, aided by his presence on social media platforms like TikTok and Facebook.

A video of the artist performing a cover to Yo Maps’ smash hit ‘Aweh’ has been making rounds on the social media platforms.

Mordecai has been teasing a snippet of a yet-to-be released song of his entitled ‘Fire’, a track he announced via Facebook that he will be dropping on June 30.

The artiste has created so much hype around the yet to be released song that has caught the attention of established musicians like songbird Mampi, musician KB of the ‘My Diary’ fame as well as dancehall artiste who now plies his trade in U.S. army T Bwoy.

Mordecai recently announced a challenge on his social media platform where he will be giving out 150 United States dollars to the winner who will do justice to his yet to be released Afro-Beat song ‘Fire’ which has become a TikTok hit.

Mordecai’s career prospects might look promising but music pundits are quick to note that there are many like him who have hit the scene and disappeared shortly after. Will this act be a flash in the pan? Many believe, time will tell.
