Patriotic Front media director, Antonio Mwanza, resigns, citing poor leadership

Opposition Patriotic Front (PF) Media Director, Antonio Mwanza, has resigned from the party with immediate effect and ceased to be a member citing poor leadership and lack of direction.

Addressing Journalists at a media briefing in Lusaka on Thursday, Mwanza accused the PF top leadership of failing to mobilize for the convention which has left party structures in dilemma.

He said there was no commitment, desire for the Central Committee to take the party to the convention to elect the party president and the principle of holding the convention has been hijacked by a few individuals with selfish motives.

“The excuses which are being given by the Central Committee that the party cannot have a convention because it has a court case which was filed by Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa stopping the holding of the convention is not true,” Mwanza said.

He said the hopes and dreams of members were being dashed every day because some people within the Central Committee are pushing an agenda not to have a convention.

Mwanza said the PF has reached a cross road because there wears not intent, commitment and direction to hold the convention to elect party president and move the party forward.

“the contributions and sacrifices of the people who worked with Michael Sata are failing to come forward and elect the party because a party without a leader can not sell, our members want to see a party with a president,” he said.
