Police in man-hunt for Pre-Secure guard, gang members who allegedly stole hospital items valued over K1.6million

Police in Lusaka have launched a manhunt for a Pre-Secure Guard and unknown criminals who broke into the IVF and Fertility Hospital and stole items all valued at over K1.6million.

Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Lusaka on Tuesday.

Hamoonga said Woodlands Police received a report of break-in into a building and committing a felony therein, which occurred between June 2, 2023 at 22:00 hours and June 3, 2023 at 06:15hours at IVF and Fertility Hospital.

He said the matter was reported by Kafuuma Joseph, a Doctor at the same private institution and it is alleged that a named Pre-Secure security guard whilst acting together with unknown criminals stole various items.

“Among the items stolen are 7 HP desktop computers, 7 APC power backups, a Voluson ultrasound scanner, 4 laptops, Acer, HP, Lenovo, and Dell, Plasma TV and a Camera Control Unit and other assorted items,” Hamoonga said.

He said investigations have been opened into the matter in which entry and exit was through a hygiene room window.
