Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale, says a joint team of law enforcement agencies has rounded up 207 people during a joint operation in Kitwe.
Mwale said in a statement on Sunday that of the 207, 58 are street kids.
The suspected street kids have reportedly been taken to an orphanage.
The exercise was conducted between May 19 at 23:00 and May 20 around 03:00 hours.
Areas that were combed by law enforcement officers in the night include the town centre, Chisokone market and Kitwe main bus station.

A team of officers included Zambia Police, Zambia Correctional Services, the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) and Department of Immigration, Kitwe City Council.
Others were from the Social Welfare, Juvenile Justice and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
He said other suspects were detained in police custody as they await to be charged.
