United Party for National Development (UPND) youths have urged opposition politicians not to undermine government as they politick.
At the media briefing on Friday in Kitwe, ruling youths on the Copperbelt threatened to start blocking Kitwe Mayor Mpasa Mwaya from state functions accusing her of undermining government.
Mwaya is reported to have demanded for the immediate resignation of President Hakainde Hichilema for alleged failure to comport himself during the media conference held at state house in Lusaka on Thursday.
UPND Kitwe District Youth Chairperson, Bowas Kapata, has taken offence at the alleged utterances.

“Youths in the districts are disappointed with Ms Mwaya’s remarks, she will not be allowed to attend events where President Hichilema is in attendance because of her behaviour,” Kapata said.
UPND Copperbelt Province Youths Vice Chairperson, Kangwa Kamando, wants Kitwe Mayor to leave President Hchilema alone.
Kamando cautioned Kitwe Mayor to refrain from attacking the government because she was part of the government by virtual of being elected mayor.
However, Mwaya has reportedly denied the claims against her saying despite being a full time Patriotic Front (PF) member, she always supported government programmes as district ‘figure head’.
