Council Chairperson, Chipangali District of Eastern Province, Maxson Nkhoma, is disappointed with the slow pace at which construction works of some of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects are moving.
Nkhoma who conducted a two days tour on the CDF projects in the District on Sunday said the works at the three projects were moving at a very slow pace and may not meet the agreed delivery period.
He said the three projects namely Nyauzi Clinic, Ngulumbe Clinic and Mnukwa Day Secondary School are supposed to be handed over in June this year, but looking at how the works are progressing it might be difficult to meet the deadline.
Nkhoma has since requested for a meeting with the contractors doing the works at these three projects to ascertain why works are moving at a slow pace.

“The local authority is in a hurry to deliver development to the people of Chipangali District and shall not allow contractors that are frustrating its efforts. The council has a robust deliberate programme to hand over all the 2022 CDF projects by June this year,” he said.
He, however, was impressed with the completion of Mmbalo primary school, Mangola primary school and Chakhota primary which projects were started late last year and are ready to be handed over to the communities by June 2023.
