Juldan Motors Limited proprietor, July Danobo ,has dragged his son to court over the ownership of 32 luxury buses.
According to a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court, Danobo claimed that his son, Raymond, had refused to change ownership of the 32 buses from his name to Juldan Motors Limited.
He stated that his son was a former shareholder in the company.
Danobo explained that between November 2013 and December 2021, Juldan Motors and Raymond entered into an agreement whereby he was to hold a number of motor vehicles and other properties in trust on behalf of the company.
“The 32 buses that were registered in the names of Raymond Danobo are in fact originally owned by Juldan Motors limited and thus are property of the first plaintiff (Juldan Motors Limited),” he stated.
Danobo claimed that he in fact assisted in purchasing the said buses under a contract of supply held at Juldan with Hazida Motors limited.
“Documentation including at Road and Safety Agency (RTSA) and Police clearance reports prove and show that the defendant around December 2021 commenced a process in which he intimated by himself to transfer 30 buses, four truck horses and two trailers at (RTSA) to Juldan motors,” he said.
Danobo, however, stated that his son suddenly changed his mind and refused to complete the process.
He said the son’s decision not to transfer the ownership of the buses in question to Juldan Motors had detrimental effects on the general operations of the company and would worsen injurious effect on the general revenue.
Danobo now wants the High Court to order Raymond to change ownership of the 32 luxury buses to Juldan Motors Limited.
He is also seeking damages for loss of businesses and any other consequential relief the court may deem fit under the circumstances.
