Police on the Copperbelt are pursuing a 32-year-old man for allegedly beating to death his elder brother aged 46 with axe handle after misunderstanding.
Copperbelt Police Chief Peacewell Mweemba said a 32-year-old man of Kitwe’s Bulangililo township is currently on the run.
Mweemba said the incident happened on Sunday and was reported by Silvester Selisho.
Facts of the matter are that Victor Katuta, a shoe repairer was killed by Adriano Mwaba who was currently on the run and police had launched a manhunt for him.
Mwaba reportedly came back from a drinking spree and found his elder brother home resting.

He said the duo were believed to have been having differences on many occasions adding that on the material day the suspect as usual picked a quarrel with his elder brother and in the process, he got a handle of an axe and started beating him all over the body.
The two were allegedly separated by Adam Simwawa who later grabbed the handle from the suspect and escorted the victim to the house where he left him sleeping.
Police said a few minutes later it was observed that Katuta was not breathing, and the matter was immediately reported to the police who visited the scene of crime and found him not breathing.
The body was picked and taken to Kitwe Teaching Hospital Mortuary where it was pronounced dead upon arrival.
