Police in Mungwi, Northern Province have reported a murder case where a seven year old boy was found dead with vital body organs such as the heart and lungs missing.
Northern Province Police Chief Gloria Mulele on Monday named the deceased as Progress Bwalya and that he was murdered by unknown people between March 16 at 11:00 and March 17, 2023 around 06:00 hours.
She said the police had apprehended two suspects identified as Hendricks Chisanga 28 and Stavel Chibesa 16 in connection with the gruesome murder.

Mulele said Progress went missing from home,after a few days his body was found lying in the bush with his chest open and some body parts missing.
She said on March 16, 2023 Emmanuel Bwalya and wife went to the farm leaving their son at home but when they returned they discovered that the boy was not at home.
“Parents panicked and started looking for Progress but he was nowhere to be seen until he was found dead by passerby Boniface Nondo,” she said.
Police officers who rushed to the scene did physical inspection and observed that the chest was open with the heart, lungs and gullet missing.
They discovered a sharp instrument was used in the act and the body has been taken to Kasama General Hospital.
Mulele said police have continued investigating the matter as the two suspects remain in police custody.
