In chat with Zambia Monitor, Mike Chalwe speaks on his new single, plans to storm campuses

Gospel artist, Mike Chalwe known as Shinolda Kool, is set to release his new single titled, ‘All That Matters’.

Speaking in an interview with Zambia Monitor, Chalwe says his fans should get excited as the project will blow them away.

“My upcoming debut album is called All That Matters. My fans and listeners in general should look out for a project that is full of emotions.

“One that is coming from a genuine heart of love, brokenness and hope. The stories on the album right from the interlude will be able to give direction of what is contained in the full body of work”,Chalwe says.

The artist narrates that his favourite tract on the album is the interlude first song, which he adds brings emotions.

“My favorite track on the album is the interlude which is the first song. The writing process was so intimate and just the whole creation process has been exciting. We had to really bring out the emotions to life and the end product is exactly how I wished it would be,” he says.

Chalwe says getting back to hosting live events is a positive development, but however feels that artists should not let their guards down amidst the lessened pandemic.

“Yes of course it’s always good to experience this and it’s something we couldn’t do for a very long time due to Covid-19 and this proved to be frustrating for a lot of people. We just have to ensure that we do not drop the guard of masking up as much as we can and also sanitizing plus observing the other golden rules.

“However, Covid-19 also taught us to be innovative and I feel we need to do more in investing and adopting virtual live events and perfecting the output of this because with virtual events, distance is not a barrier,” he says.

After the album hits the market, Chalwe plans to have a countrywide tour to ensure that higher learning institutions are reached.

“Once the album is in the market, we are looking at the possibility of launching a countrywide tour that will target universities and colleges. Besides this, we will be looking at finding opportunities to promote the album. Hopefully we can release a couple of visuals for some songs of the project,” he says.
