A 40-year-old general worker of Makeni, Lusaka, has pleaded guilty to defiling his step-daughter aged 14-year.
Appearing at the Lusaka magistrate court before Mutinta Mwenya was Stanslous Musonda charged with one count of defilement of a child.
It is alleged that on unknown dates but between September 15, 2021 and December 17, 2022, Musonda had carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16.
The accused person accepted defiling his step son alleging that he was drunk and that was just a mistake he will never repeat.
Magistrate Mwenya asked why he defiled the child, the accused said that he was drunk and only defiled the victim two times within the same week.
The court asked if he knew that the victim was his daughter, the accused said yes.

Magistrate Mwenya: Did you know that the Victim was below the age of 16?
Musonda: He said yes.
Further asked if he knew that the victim was below the age of 16, the accused said yes.
The court adjourned the matter to March 10, 2023 for reading of written facts by public prosecutor Malama Chisenga and possible sentencing.
It is also alleged that the victim, whose father died, is 21 weeks pregnant for the accused.
