Zambia’s Chipolopolo 2012 AFCON winning goal minder, Kennedy Mweene, says he is not done yet as keeper.
The Mamelodi Sundowns coach-player has revealed that he was yet to hang his boots as a player after temporarily filling in the role of goalkeeper coach at his South Africa side.
Mweene sat on the bench as goalkeeper coach when Mamelodi Sundowns beat Orlando Pirates by 1-0 during the clash at Orlando Stadium on February 4, 2023.

“I just stood in for Wendel because he was given a red card, I am still registered as a player. I enjoyed that moment on the bench because it’s something I have been wanting to do and which I want to do in the future when I retire,” Mweene said.
He said his body would be able to tell him when to retire from playing football as he was still enjoying playing.
Mweene said he would love to help both Zambia and South Africa in mentoring goal keepers because they were not many doing that right now-Zed Sports.
