Revenue authority widening tax net through building stakeholder mentality —Official

Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is implementing  various taxpayer education and awareness initiatives to promote voluntary taxpaying culture in the country.

The tax collector said ZRA would continue  remaining true to its customer  service centric culture while offering the best tax administration practices as it appreciates the public’s efforts towards the growth and development of Zambia.

“It is for this reason that ZRA has kept on seeking strategic stakeholder collaborations,” ZRA corporate communications manager  Oliver Nzala said in a statement on Tuesday.

Nzala said  the  Authority wanted  to work with all stakeholders as it highlights  the significance of shared nationhood and pulling together as a citizenry in determining the country’s destiny, including economic sovereignty through payment of taxes.

He said  ZRA was now aligned to becoming a customer centric institution, which is core to the organization’s strategy.

Nzala said  the Authority would  continue to simplify its processes and adopt a friendlier approach in the manner in which it interacts with taxpayers.

“Some of the initiatives ZRA has implemented to enhance service delivery include rigorous good governance practice, the application of modern technology in all ZRA processes and operations. In all these, our customer, the taxpayer is the focus of our interest,” he said.
