Zambia Athletics (ZA) president Elias Mpondela has said the rehabilitation of Olympic Development Cent ( OYDC) will see the rebirth of kids athletics in Zambia.
Mpondela said in a statement accessed by Sports Monitor on Tuesday that kids athletics will be reintroduced once the OYDC facility is rehabilitated to world athletics standards.
He said this would help having a pool of athletes at all levels and improve field events.
For over six years, kids athletics has not been conducted due to lack of tracks and the dilapidation of OYDC running track.

Mpondela said the kids athletics program will have kids from five to 14 years trained in both fields and track events from OYDC.
According to ZA, athletes like Sydney Siame and Kabange Mupopo are some of the products from kids athletics.
