Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) has killed two crocodiles in Kitwe believed to have been attacking residents around river Kafue .
Copperbelt police chief Peacewell Mweemba said it was believed that after killing a woman, it also allegedly killed a dog at the same spot on Monday.
Following the attack authorities swung into action and shot two reptiles .
On Thursday, police said one reptile returned to the same spot and ZAWA officers from Kalulushi camped at the area and around 20.00 hours they managed to gun it down but that it fell into the river and was later retrieved.

On lookers narrated that when it was taken to Mufuchani police post, the community took advantage of the situation and got it and started marching on the roads.
“When Riverside police officers rushed there, they were greeted with stones. However, officers managed to push them back and took custody of the dead reptile,” he said.
Mweemba said the second crocodile, about 3.5 metres long, was shot on Thursday and retrieved near Chipata township.
On Sunday a 30-year-old woman of Chipata township in Kitwe died after being attacked by a crocodile on the banks of the Kafue river.
