Developing story! Three more arrests made in case of recent car burglaries

Police have arrested three more suspects in connection with thefts from motor vehicles that have been reported recently.

This brings the total to suspects arrested to seven in connection with thefts from motor vehicles that have been reported recently.

Investigations led to the arrest of three more suspects aged between 29 and 34 who were picked up from Matero Township in Lusaka, says Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale.

Mwale said in a statement issued on Wednesday that the suspects were found with some car breaking implements.

“Officers also impounded two motor vehicles which were used by the suspects, a Toyota Allex with two registration numbers BLB 2783 and BAL 5634 as well as a Toyota Camry bearing registration number BAV 913.

“Suspects were apprehended on February 7, 2023 around 20:00 hours.Total number of impounded motor vehicles suspected to be used in criminal activities is three and number of suspects in Police custody is seven,” he said.

Mwale said investigations in the matter are still ongoing.

Recently, four suspects among them a female were arrested in Chelston in connection with theft from motor vehicles.
