United Party for National Development (UPND) chairperson Elisha Matambo has urged party members to get creative as government was not ready to find party activities using public resources.
Matambo said it was important for UPND members on the Copperbelt to venture into agriculture activities.
Matambo said this in Lufwanyama when he visited the piggery business initiative by the Lufwanyama UPND structures on Sunday.
He said the UPND in the province should take a leading role in coming up with income generating activities adding that UPND was discouraging the culture of handouts.
“The new dawn government will never use government resources to fund party operations,” Matambo who is Copperbelt Minister said.
Matambo said UPND government had invested into livestock farming including breed improvements, marketing and other areas to solve problems that Zambians have been facing in the sector.
