A 30-year-old man of Lilanda Desai compound in Lusaka has denied abducting, defiling and assaulting juveniles under the age of sixteen.
Vincent Mulenga pleaded not guilty to two counts of abduction, two counts of defilement and two counts of Assault contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
Mulenga appeared on Friday before outgoing Lusaka Senior Magistrate Nthandose Chabala and denied knowing the girls.
It is alleged that Mulenga abducted girls below the age of sixteen and confined them in his bar in a dark room where he used to give them drugs, have s*x with them and later took them to some lodges in Emmasdale area and make them sleep with men for money.
He gave the state prosecutor a tough time after he refused to answer most of the questions he was being asked.

Mulenga in his defence said he never abducted any girl or having s*x with them. He also said he did not give any of them drugs as purported.
In re-examination, state prosecutor asked him to confirm if he took one of the girls to Devil Street in Matero and made her have s*x with men soliciting for money? He said he doesn’t know a thing.
Wisdom Kashweka further asked why he did not challenge any of the girls in court when giving testimony that he never knew them or saw them anywhere. He responded that it was his first time seeing them in court, he doesn’t know any of them.
Mulenga further in his defence said it was in November, 2021 when he went to open his bar which is situated in Desai area and after a while he received a call from a friend that he had some some beers for sale, as he was heading to Matero to order the beer, he saw the police officer who came to apprehend him.
“I just saw the police officers coming towards my direction wanting to apprehend me, I was apprehended and detained but they never told me what I was arrested for.
Previously, three Juveniles between the ages of 13 and 15 years testified how they were abducted and put in a dark room where they were sexually abused.
They testified that Mulenga (30) used to defile them in the presence of other friends and could beat and give them marijuana to smoke as he prepared them to go out and do prostitution.
The girls he confined were in the group range of thirteen to sixteen years of age.
Allegations are that Mulenga on dates unknown but between November 19 2021 and November 26, 2021 in Lusaka, did unlawfully take unmarried girls under the age 16 years out of care and protection of their mothers, having the lawful care, against their will.
