MORE than K19 million worth of immovable and movable properties have been handed over to various government and departments that were forfeited to the State.
This was in the case which involved former Ministry of Health Chief Human Resources Officer Henry Kapoko, according to Zambia’s Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
In 2018, Kapoko and his co- accused persons were convicted and sentenced to 18 years imprisonment with hard labour for corruption by the Lusaka Magistrates Court on 66 counts following the arrest and prosecutions by ACC.
Timothy Moono, Head-Corporate Communication, in a statement on Friday said the properties have been handed over to the Ministry of Lands, Office of the Public Protector, Hostels Board of Management and the Department of Works and Supply.
The immovable properties that have been handed over are: stand No. LUS/3775 comprising of two three bedroom dwelling houses each located at No. 25 Manda Hill road Olympia Park valued at K2, 940,000.00.
Another property stand No. LUS/13947 comprising of a guest house with a block of 15 self-contained guest rooms, two detached conference halls and a double storey block with five self-contained guest rooms situated in Roma valued at K9,645,000.00.
He said stand No. LUS/13949 comprising of incomplete structures of a lodge situated in Roma valued at K2, 247,000.00.
Others are: stand No. LUS /3325/M/B comprising of high cost dwelling house with five bedrooms, a block of semi-detached servants quarters, pool and a bar situated in Ibex Hill valued at K3,805,000.00 and stand No. LUS/7791 comprising of a dwelling house with three bedrooms situated in Woodlands Extension valued at K540, 000.00.
And the following movable items have been handed over to the Hostels Management Board: 33 beds, 23 mattresses, three (3) Television sets, 10 headboards, one washing machine, four refrigerators and two cooking Stoves.
Moono indicated that others are three wall mirrors, six Chest of Drawers, 33 Chairs, seven tables, and five side drawers.
