Government says it has learnt with deep regret the theft of broadcast equipment at Muvi television in Lusaka.

The incident has caused a disruption of the station’s programming and dissemination of news, according to Chief government spokesperson, Chushi Kasanda, in a statement issued Sunday in Zambia’s capital, Lusaka.

Kasanda said government valued the smooth flow of information to the public and any disruption was a concern to government.

“Government therefore, calls on the police to investigate the matter and bring the culprits to book. Further, Government wishes to take this opportunity to encourage media houses to work closely with the police in securing their facilities,” Kasanda said.
