63-year-old man nabbed in Mwense for defiling minor, 6-year-old

The police in Mwense’s Luapula Province has reported a defilement case where a 63-year-old had carnal knowledge of a minor aged six.

Luapula police chief Gloria Mulele disclosed in a statement on Wednesday that Charles Katebe 63,has been arrested for allegedly defiling a six year old girl, while she went to play video games.

The victim was taken to the bathroom by Katebe where he covered her mouth and had carnal knowledge of her.

Mulele said on an unknown date last month around 17:00 hours the victim went to play video games with her friend and they found Katebe in the shop where the games were being played.

She said a few minutes later the victim was told to go to the bathroom which was behind the shop and while there Mr Katebe took advantage of the girl and told her not to disclose to anyone what had happened.

The suspect who is in police custody is expected to appear in court soon.

Mulele added that a medical report was issued to the victim and she was taken to Mwense district for medical examinations.
