55-year-old man faces 15 years jail term for sexually abusing his 13-year-old daughter

Convicted of sexually abusing his 13-year-old biological daughter, Bernard Ndubula faces a minimum sentence of 15 years.

Ndubula, 55, pleaded guilty to a charge of incest by males.

He is alleged to have defiled his daughter on October 5,2024.

Ndubula deceived his daughter into returning home from their neighbors, threatening her with a green knife and subjecting her to unimaginable abuse.

The next day, she confided in her neighbor, who advised her to inform her elder sister.

The sister then helped the minor report the abuse to their mother over the phone, and the case was eventually reported to the police.

The medical report revealed lacerations and vaginal bleeding, indicating that the abuse was not an isolated incident.

In defence, he claimed that he did not threaten his daughter with a knife and that the abuse occurred in the sitting room.

He told the court that it was never his wish to defile his daughter.

The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court found Ndubula guilty and committed him to the High Court for mitigation and sentencing.
