Patrick ‘Baddo’ Chinyemba has been crowned the International Boxing Association (IBA) African Flyweight Champion after defeating Ghana’s Allotey Theophilus via technical knockout in Round 4 at the IBA Champions Night in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The title, previously vacant, now belongs to Chinyemba, who added another achievement to his impressive record.

This victory marked Chinyemba’s third win over Theophilus, following their recent encounter at the African Games in Accra earlier this year and their first meeting at the 2023 World Championships in Uzbekistan.

The win also helps Chinyemba move past his disappointing exit from the Paris Olympics quarter-finals.
