Clinical officer faces court over fraud charges

A 50-year-old clinical officer, Daniel Tembo, has appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court on charges of obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretense.

Tembo, who was employed by the Ministry of Health, allegedly entered into another employment contract with the Clinton Health Access Initiative without resigning from his government position.

He was accused of dishonestly obtaining K153,012.46 from the Zambian government.

Tembo had denied the allegations and the trial is set to commence on August 27, 2024.
